This is a replica in Coney Island Style, of the original Looff's Camel carved by Charles D. Looff. Looff is credited with installing the first carousel at Coney Island in 1876, the year of USA's centennial celebration.
The actual Looff's Camel rides the Lighthouse Point Carousel in New Haven, Conn.
Measures 5" high and 4¾" wide.

He is titled "Dentzel's Deer" 1907 (replica) This one of Dentzel's most popular carvings. The Dentzel rides in Glen Echo Park, Maryland USA.
He measures 6" high from the base to the tip of his antler. His carousel base is 3" wide and 4" long. He is 3½" long and measures 1¼" wide.

This is a replica in Philadelphia Style, of the original Muller's Giraffe, carved by Daniel Muller; praised by his peers, for his highly realistic carving style. In his 13-yr. history, Muller and his brother produced only a dozen complete carousels, making his figures especially rare!
This grandiose giraffe rides at the Astroworld Carousel in Houston, Texas.

"Hop Toad" Frog, 1915 by Herschell-Spillman Company, the only carousel company to produce a frog.
It comes with a 2" by 3" card:
One side has a picture of a carousel horse with ‘The Golden Age of the Carousel’ logo.

County Fair Style
Not only is the Herschell-Spillman Company the only carousel company to have produced a frog, its true fame rests in the fact that this frog is the only American carousel animal known to be wearing human clothes. From the County Fair Style noted for the portable carousel, this became one of the most valued and popular menagerie animals ever made. This frolicking frog rides at Balboa Park in San Diego, California.

Dentzel's Lion

Philadelphia Style
Gustav Dentzel was one of the first carousel carvers from Germany to settle in Philadelphia. Dentzel's Lion, Circa 1910, demonstrates this hallmark style of elaborate saddle undercuts and a consistently exacting quality of rich carving. His spectacular carved horses and menagerie of animals forged an acclaimed style of carousel art sought after today by private collectors around the world. This lion rides at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois.
The figure appears to be porcelain with a metal pole.
The base is resin and measures 3 inches by 4 inches. The piece is 5 inches high.

Coney Island Style
This Lion Carousel figurine is a part of the "Golden Age of the Carousel" Collection.
The Lion sits on an oval ceramic base that measures 4 inches. The pole is brass. From the base to the top of the pole measures 5 inches. From his nose to the end of his tail is 5¼ inches.

M.C. Illions & Son carved few menagerie figures. The flamboyant horses for which Coney Island carousels are known originated with Marcu Illions. The highly innovative carver began in 1886 to work in the Looff factory, where he introduced stylish manes and exciting poses. Illions produced only a half dozen lions, including this stately beast, which survived, circa 1910. This magnificent lion rides at Riverside Park in Agawam, Massachusetts.

From the golden age of the carousel, Illions - Tiger circa 1910 Coney Island Style Carousel as a tribute to Marcus Illions a highly innovative carver.
This Tiger was one of the last manegerie figures done by Illions and rides at Riverside Park in Agawam, Massachusetts.
This piece stands 5 inches tall and is 4½ inches long.

4 inch wide base and 4½ inch tall highly detailed carousel Tiger figure.
Original extremely well-carved Tiger by Daniel Muller was a lavishly ornamental carving. This replica fierce tiger seems tamer with a delicate bouquet clustered on its shoulder. This Tiger rides at Conneaut Lake Park in Pennsylvania.
