This piece was made by Danforth Pewterers and is part of the Shelburne Museum Collection.
This design was adapted from the Carousel Giraffe, one of the menagerie animals created by the Gustav Dentzel Carousel Company of Philadelphia in the late 1800s. The detail of the original wood-carved Giraffe was colorfully painted and adorned with genuine leather tack.
This pewter giraffe pendant measures approximately 2½" tall and 2" wide.

This piece was made by Danforth Pewterers and is part of the Shelburne Museum Collection.
This design is modeled after a carousel lion carved by Daniel Muller for the Gustav Dentzel Carousel Company of Philadelphia in the late 1800s. The original lion, part of Shelburne Museum's collection of Dentzel figures, is carved pained wood, with glass, leather, brass and iron attachments.
This pewter lion pendant measures approximately 1½" tall and 2¼" wide.

This piece was made by Danforth Pewterers and is part of the Shelburne Museum Collection.
This Carousel Tiger was one of the menagerie animals created by the Gustav Dentzel Carousel Company of Philadelphia in the late 1800s. Dentzel was known for producing realistic and graceful carousel animals. The right or “romance” side of this figure is elaborately decorated and was placed on the outside row of the carousel to attract riders.
This pewter tiger pendant measures approximately 1¾" tall and 2¼" wide.
